National Portrait Week

This year's IPPA's fundraising Charity event is called 'National Portrait Week' (formerly 'Happy Faces'). The nationwide event runs from 29th March to 6th April and the benefiting charity this year is the LauraLynn Children's Hospice.

Here at Studio 5, we are again delighted to participate. Our event will be held in Logue's Shoeshop in Galway City centre, on Saturday 28th March from 11am to 4pm.

You can have an individual mini portrait session and later receive a 7"x5" print in a folder for a donation of €25 to LauraLynn. As always, 100% of the donation goes to the charity, with the photographers and sponsors bearing all costs.

LauraLynn provides care for children with life-limiting conditions and their families by providing home support, respite, crisis and end-of-life care. Tragically, there are over 3,800 children living in Ireland with life limiting conditions and 350 of these children pass away each year, most within their first year of life.

Jane Flynn, LauraLynn Head of Marketing, “We are thrilled to have been chosen as the charity partner for National Portrait Week 2015. With NO direct government funding for LauraLynn hospice services, we rely entirely on the generosity of fundraisers such as National Portrait Week to keep our doors open. We need to raise €2.9M annually to continue providing these services with additional funding needed to roll out our LauraLynn@HOME programme nationwide, providing nursing care for very sick children in the comfort of their own home.”
